The superficial reason for introducing the Asia Quota System was to fill the shortage of domestic players with Asian players, but it was actually also to reduce the inflated salaries of domestic players. Last season, the salary of Asia Quota players was $100,000, approximately 137 million Korean won. It is half the salary of the men's team, which is 229 million won, and lower than the average salary of the women's team, which is 152 million won. So, some teams are currently trying to take advantage of the affordability of Asia Quota players by strategically deploying them in positions traditionally considered weak. Coach Ko has appointed Indonesian national team opposite striker Megawati for the team. Among the 7 women's teams in Korea, Coach Ko was the only one to utilize an Asian Quota for the opposite striker position. Coach Ko's decision paid off as Megawati ranked 7th in scoring (736 points), 4th in attack success rate (43.95%), and 2nd in serving (0.25 per set) last season, proving to be a key player for the team.
